ABOUT THE SHOP

One shop, two artists.

Ron and Susan Orcutt — owners of High Country Taxidermy, Pinedale Wyoming

Ron & Susan Orcutt — owners + makers.

Ron mounts big game. Susan mounts birds. Together, eighteen years in Pinedale — every trophy handled by the artist who specializes in it.

Both trained at Montana School of Taxidermy in Helena. Susan also studied bird work with sculptor Stephan Stevidas — which is why the feather lay and eye expression on her birds look like the animal just landed. Fully tanned, hand-finished mounts built to last decades on a wall.

BIRDS

Birds — every feather where it should be.

Susan studied with sculptor and bird taxidermist Stephan Stevidas. Wing set, feather lay, eye — the details that make the difference between a stiff bird and one that looks like it just landed.

EUROPEAN & HORN

Skull-and-horn mounts — quicker turnaround.

Europeans and horn plaques aren't tied to tannery delays the way full mounts are. A sharp way to memorialize a hunt — and a much shorter wait. Ask about current timing when you call.
